Let's say you're fresh out of college, working that new job finally making some money. Your old E36 or G35 coupe isn't in tip top shape anymore.
Let's say you just love stance. You grew up loving F&F, you used to idolize your drug dealer neighbor who owned a slammed 300C, and ya just gotta get low.
$20k budget, what do you stance?
I'd go for a 2010 Mercedes Benz C300. It's a 6MT, it's Euro, and it comes in at $19,880. Nothing says college grad starting a career more than a used entry level luxury car! It's pretty unique in the sense that it's a 6MT, and it's a good looking car. I actually think it would look alright stanced IF done correctly.
What would you pick?
I've done let's say three times now, lets hope for many more!

20k budget I would honestly be looking for a older vehicle like a 67-72 Chevy pickup, 64-67 el camino, 4 door sedan 55-57 Chevy. There are too many BMW and Mercedes in the parking lot at work.

My wallet. I stance my wallet with 20 grand and don't spend it on stance.

Realistically this is what I would do.. I just spent some time on stanceworks looking at build threads and it's much more common to see older cars being stanced, I just wanted to use something different for my answer.

I reiterate old BMW sedans. If you're going to stance, don't blow your budget on a nice car, get a used luxobarge that's 10+ years old and will actually keep its value and has more aftermarket parts available. Save your money for rims and a GOOD ADJUSTABLE AIRBAG SUSPENSION so you can do it right, instead of ass-dragging the car and scraping on speed bumps.

Because stancing costs money, your budget is both the car and what you do with it. For that, I'd do full eurotrash and go with a passat wagon.
Full air ride setup, with wood "flooring" in the trunk and artsy bronze/copper tubing for the air setup. Get a much more Euro front end and put in a better interior complete with a nice sound system. Maybe swap in some Audi seats? Just make it a nice place to be during a cruise. Then put some tasty BBS wheels on it and get it painted. Then be like me, beer-label bomb the fenders and put a roof rack on it. On that roof rack, I'd have some older wooden kegs as well as some wooden "6-pack" holders with fake beers in them. Voila! Bierwagen-wagon!

I like your thinking, but I've yet to read a stance build thread that hasn't gone over budget, and that's not an exaggeration at all haha.

I remember seeing a wagon, an actual wagon get stanced and it was amazing.

If this is considered stance consider it my answer.
Side note: What the hell is with us and BMWs?

You don't know how hard it was for me to pick a scenario where I wouldn't find a BMW to be my answer haha. I already picked BMW's for the previous 2 scenarios haha!

I know, I wanted to make oppo suffer ;) I personally wouldn't stance my car but some cars (like the TT you posted) look cool when stanced correctly.

Some of those builds are over 20k just for the custom parts alone, let alone the car itself. Though it was fun in Bierwagen 1.0 getting more looks in my 2000$ jetta than the fully customized Audi TT next to me that was probably north of 60k between the nearly new TT and the mods.

A bierwagen and a TT sounds like a pretty fun garage!

First off thats waaayyy too practical.
But I would think long and hard about just upgrading then spending a few grand to stance and a few grand to get into the 12's & still have some money left.
But would probably go a bit more exotic.

I Wouldn't go for a 6MT MB C300. Why? Because the E-brake is foot operated in that car, and with a manual I like having a hand operated E-brake. So I guess an alternative would be a manual BMW 328i.

That's the only way I'd ever stance anything — on bags. That's the proper way to do it. Slam it for the show, raise it for the road.
